Tourist profile of Georgia

According to the observation of the Tourism Department of Georgia, Russian and Japanese tourists spend the most amount of money in Georgia. The most favorite tourist destination is Tbilisi, followed by Batumi and Kazbegi. It should also be mentioned that tourist attractions are mostly offered by local tour operators. Most tourists are interested in cultural tours, as well as wine tours. In winter, skiing resorts also have become very popular. The so-called combination tours are also becoming popular. In such tours, Georgia is being visited together with either Armenia or Azerbaijan. Boat tours to Adjara are also popular, together with other Black Sea ports. Georgia can offer more destinations to tourists, including health, ethnographical, extreme or other thematic tours, but still, tourism infrastructure, services, restaurant networks, small hotels, and other facilities need much more investment.
