The Georgian national currency, the lari, has been fluctuating recently and by the end of November, 2013 it reached 1.69 GEL for 1 USD. The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) does not see anything special in this fact explaining the change as a short-term fluctuation, which is normal. The president of the NBG, Giorgi Kadagidze, says the guarantee of the stability of the GEL is the NBG, which has enough financial, infrastructure and human resources. Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri also supports this position.
