In the first ten months of 2013, Georgian Railway’s turnover decreased by 10%. In this period, Georgian railways transported 15 million tons of cargo, which is less than in the same period last year. The authorities from Georgian Railways are confident that the situation will improve in 2014. Apart from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan will also be using Georgian Railways more intensively. There is also much optimism with regard to intensifying turnover after the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railways begins functioning.
