Georgia, Turkey create intergovernmental commission on energy projects

Friday, December 13
An intergovernmental commission was created with regard to energy projects implemented by Georgia and Turkey.

Following a meeting with Turkish Energy Minister, Taner Yildiz on December 11, the Georgian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Kakha Kaladze said that the committee will discuss the objects that will be built in Georgia.

He said that, the meeting also discussed the flow of new investments in the country and work of existing businesses, as well as the construction of new power transmission lines and substations.

"You know that foreign investors have a lot of interest in our country. We fear that the power transmission line and substation, which we opened today, soon will not be able to transmit electricity to Turkey and to the European markets through this country. We discussed new projects with regard to this - the places where we need to build new transmission lines and substations. We also agreed to establish an intergovernmental commission, which will work on new projects," Kaladze said. (Trend)
