New album by Kartuli Khmebi

The presentation of a new album of Kartuli KHmebi (Georgian Voices) was held at Bravo Records studio on December 27. This album is dedicated to 15th anniversary of the young generation of the band.
According to the President of Bravo Records, Zaza Shengelia, as far as this is an anniversary album, it unites all genres that band has worked on before. The band was working on the album for 2 years, since summer of 2011.
The musical compositions are distributed on two disks. The first disk includes collected Georgian folk songs and the second - new musical compositions and experimental versions of some well-known songs accompanied by the instrumental arrangements and different vocal versions.
Musicians and singers Niaz Diasamidze, Roma Rtskhiladze, Nani Bregvadze, Salome Bakuradze, Zviad Bolkvadze, Misha Mdinaradze, Davit Malazonia and others look part in the recording of the album.
According to the leader of the band, Kahka Grigalashvili, this album will be full of surprises for their fans.
The official presentation of album will be held at the State Concert Hall in February, 2014. A record-signing party is also scheduled before the concert. Preparation works for the concert are underway at Bravo Records. The band will perform about 20 songs. Davit Sakhvarelidze will be the director of the concert.
Kartuli Khmebi has participated in many international musical festivals. It has won various Grand Prix. The members of the band are initiators and participants of many charity concerts. They also hold Medals of Honor.
For 15 years of their existence the band has worked with the world-class musicians such as Bobby McFerrin, Katie Melua, TAKE 6 and etc. In 2006 children’s studio was established on the base of band, where hundreds of teenagers familiarized with the Georgian folk songs. The band has published four CD and two DVD albums, which are considered as one of the best sales albums in Georgia.
The upcoming album has been sponsored by, Gulf, VTB bank, Kindzmarauli cellar and Samoseli Pirveli (The First Garment). The album photos were taken by Jiji Rejini. After the press-conference the band performed 2 songs from the new album.
