Recent heavy snowfalls in Adjara seriously damaged the harvest of citruses in the region. Officials from Adjara inform that the snow damaged about 25% of citruses.

Until recently, Georgia had exported 22,000 tons of citruses to Ukraine, and 15,000 tons to Russia. Other amounts have been sent to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as well as to Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Georgia planned to collect 100,000 tons of citruses this season. However, experts and officials claim that the figure will be less by about 25%. (The Messenger)
