The Armenian Electricity Network released information stating that in 2013, the country used 6.186 billion kilowatt hours of electricity. This is 1.3% more than in 2012. Officials inform that special measures have been taken to decrease the waste of electricity. For this reason automatic registration systems for electricity consumption have been installed.

The total length of electricity transmission lines in Armenia is 31,397 kilometers. In one year, Armenia installed 1.6% more electricity lines. The Armenian Electricity Network is the only company involved in the distribution and transmission of electric energy in the country. It also owns licenses for exporting electricity to Georgia, as well as the unrecognized Mountainous Karabakh.
