According to the data of the World Economic Forum 2013-2014, Georgia is 138th among 148 countries. According to the level of competition on the local market, Georgia holds the 123rd position, while for the domineering of the local market – it is in the 119th position.
This is the worst indicator among the Eastern European countries. Ever since the Georgian Dream coalition entered the political arena under Bidzina Ivanishvili’s leadership, coalition members have kept repeating about the necessity of anti-monopolistic legislation. However, nothing much has been done until recently and the issue of adopting an anti-monopolistic body has been delayed for the time being.
