Economist Roman Gotsiridze criticized the moving of Parliament to Kutaisi. In particular, the argument for this move, which stated that moving the Parliament to Kutaisi would facilitate the economic development of the city.

The construction of the parliament building and its relevant infrastructure had cost around 400 million GEL. So far, there are no signs of any economic revival in Kutaisi. Answering the question from Rezonansi newspaper, Gotsiridze said that an attempt at reviving the economy by moving the legislative body to Kutaisi was either a naive approach or a political step.
