Georgian FDI in 2013

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), on March 11, the foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia in 2013 reached $914 million USD.

This figure is 0.3% higher than in 2012.

Out of this figure the largest investments – $193 million – came in the energy sector, followed by the financial sector at $170 million, transport and communication – $138 million, processing industry $124 million, and then the construction sector, mining industry, agriculture and real estate sectors.

The largest portion of investments came from the Netherlands, followed by Luxemburg, China, Azerbaijan, Turkey, US, UK, Malta, and the United Arab Emirates. (The Messenger)
