The National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) informs that around $900 million USD has left Georgia. It should be mentioned here that much of this capital was transferred to offshore entities. The trend of lowering capital from Georgia is increasing.
In 2009, $429 million USD was transferred from Georgia, in 2010 – $489 million USD, in 2011 – $478 million USD, in 2012 – $518 million USD, in 2013 – $908 million USD.
The largest amount of capital went to Cyprus, which has offshore status, followed by Saudi Arabia, the Virgin Islands (offshore), Belize, Panama (also offshore), Lichtenstein, etc.
Capital from Georgia was also transferred to Moldova, Russia and Belarus.
There are different opinions concerning the issue but the one opinion is universal – this is a bad tendency.
