The International Republican Institute (IRI) published the results of research stressing that the fall of the rate of GEL is considered the major economic problem for Georgia, followed by high communal expenses, incompetence of the governing bodies, high prices on fuel, a decrease in the implementation of infrastructural projects, lack of qualified civil servants, and the decrease of road construction in the country.
The polling was carried out from March 13-19, 2014.
Economists differently assess the current economic situation in the country. There is an opinion that the Georgian leadership encourages import supporting the financial entities, which rely on import instead of facilitating production of export items.
