There are many debates and controversies concerning the Labour Code of Georgia. Several amendments have been introduced in the code. Workers so far complain about the safety of working conditions. According to information from the Trade Unions, during the last 6 years 429 persons were injured during working activities and there were 273 fatalities.
There is currently no organization in the country that monitors how protected the workers are.
