The Visit of Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Kazakhstan

Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Vice Prime Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia discussed the issues regarding Georgia’s participation in regional and international transport-infrastructure projects within the framework of the visit to Kazakhstan. The minister participated in the Astana International Economic Forum, organized by President Nursultan Nazarbayev. One of the main topics of the forum was the initiative made at the Shanghai summit about creating the infrastructural fund for the Silk Road.
Within the framework of the forum, Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with Jenis Kasymbek, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan. The sides discussed the issues regarding cooperation between Georgia and Kazakhstan in the field of transport, as well as certain projects in which both countries are involved and are oriented towards increasing the competitiveness of the transport corridor.
