Azerbaijan is planning to provide Europe with natural gas. However, 7 years may be required to supply Europe with a sufficient amount of natural gas. While Europe is trying to find alternate ways of receiving natural gas rather than from Russia, Azerbaijan is trying to take advantage of the situation. However, there are many obstacles to manage the issue timely. Additional wells must be constructed in the Caspian Sea, additional pipe-lines need to be built to reach the transport capacity and there needs to be increased financial investment. Some analysts suggest that eventually Azerbaijan could provide Europe with up to 50 million cubic meters of gas annually. However, even at its best this amount is far less than Europe receives from Norway.
