Disaster affects several villages of Gori region

Heavy rain and hail has inflicted very serious damage on seven villages of the Gori municipality. The situation is particularly grave in the village of Reha, where the fruit yards, cultivated lands and vineyards have been completely destroyed. The gardens and the ground floors of the houses in this village have been flooded. The locals say it was the heaviest hail they had in the past few decades. They complain that they will have no harvest this year.

The windstorm has also inflicted damage on the region, as it tore down electricity lines, causing a blackout in the disaster region. Specialists repaired the damage sections of the network in a few hours and the power supply was restored.
