The Russian Federation is trying to comfort Abkhazia after the political crisis in the region. The Russian National Tourism Agency has recently announced the Abkhaz Black Sea coast facilities are ready to host visits in a quiet and comfortable environment. Russian officials promised that they will be actively promoting Abkhazia as an attractive tourist destination and recommending it to Russian holiday-makers. However, this is just a wish of Russian officials, as the situation in the region is not quiet at all. The elections scheduled on August 24 coincide with tourist season. This will make holidaying in Abkhazia anything but peaceful.
