Government approves three innovative projects

The Government of Georgia has approved three new projects within the Prime Minister’s initiated program ‘Produce in Georgia.'

A paper factory, fruit and vegetable processing plant and plastic manufacturing centre are earmarked to be built in Tbilisi, Gori and Orkhevi.

The ‘Produce in Georgia’ program aimed to recover the country’s production industry and improve Georgia’s economic future by supporting smaller manufacturing and agricultural projects.

At today’s Government meeting, Ministers decided to assign three non-agricultural territories to entrepreneurs in Tbilisi, Gori and Orkhevi.

Minister approved to build a paper factory including packaging and disposable products in Tbilisi. In Karaleti village in Gori municipality, a fruit, berries and vegetable processing plant will be constructed and a plastics manufacturing enterprise will be built in Orkhevi.

According to the agreement, enterprises should be built on these lands in no longer than two years. The business must not change their profile for a minimum of two years.
