FDI performance in Georgia
Thursday, July 3
Georgia’s neighbors Armenia and Azerbaijan received much more Direct Foreign Investment (FDI) than Georgia in 2014. Azerbaijan received $1.9 billion, Armenia $488 million, Georgia only $260 million. Azerbaijani leadership explains this by the fact of the inflow of oil dollars in the country.
Armenia is mainly supported by the Armenian Diaspora around the world. In both directions, Georgia illustrates very poor performance.
