Minister of Defence of Georgia meets NATO’s Assistant Secretary General

NATO’s Assistant Secretary General AMB Sorin Ducaru paid an official visit to Georgia. Minister of Defence Irakli Alasania received the NATO official. Deputy Minister of Defence Mikheil Darchiashvili, the representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia attended the meeting.
Georgia’s NATO integration prospects and current preliminary work for the upcoming NATO summit in Wales were discussed at the meeting. The sides touched upon the Georgian troops’ participation in international missions. Irakli Alasania briefed the visitor about the progress achieved in terms of the democratic development of Georgia and the implemented defence reforms. The meeting participants also highlighted the defence transformation process within the MoD.
