Simulation Exercise with Participation of Military Doctors

Military doctors of the Georgian Armed Forces underwent an emergency medical aid program during the pre-hospital stage. Medical personnel of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs and the representatives of MIA Emergency Department participated in the five-day long training.
The joint exercise aimed to strengthen medical response practical skills in emergency situations, the testing of branch reaction plans and improvement of interagency coordination.
A large scale simulation training course was held at the Otar Gudushauri National Medical Center base. Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia Davit Sergeenko, Deputy Defence Minister Vako Avaliani, as well as the representatives of Medical Department of the GAF attended the exercise “Natural Disaster with Leaking out Chemical Substances”.
According to the simulation scenario, an earthquake caused the explosion of a chemical plant and the leaking out of harmful substances. The existing situation resulted in health problems for the local population. The participants provided first-aid to the locals in field conditions and evacuated them from the area.
50 military doctors of the various units of the Georgian Armed Forces participated in the five-day long training course. The joint exercise was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs.
