Reconnaissance Unit Training Course

The training course for reconnaissance units came to an end at the Ranger Training School. Reconnaissance platoons of II and III Light Infantry Brigades of West Operational Command attended the training. 37 servicemen from 66 successfully completed the exercise.
The Deputy Chiefs of General, Staff Brigadier Vladimir Chachibaia and Colonel Roman Jokhadze, Commander of West Operational Command Colonel Mikheil Sadunishvili and Head of J2 Department Lieutenant-Colonel Giorgi Kvirikashvili attended the closing ceremony of the training. Invited guests granted certificates to the course graduates.
The reconnaissance course was elaborated by the Special Forces and J2 Department of the General Staff and lasted for 12 weeks. The aim of the training of reconnaissance units was to raise their combat capabilities and prepare them by unified standards.
In the frame of three-month training program, servicemen developed individual, squad and platoon training skills; they studied navigation, special tactics, communication, shooting, first aid, mountain and engineering. The course was completed by 2 week situational field training.
