Georgian Military Celebrated “Vazhaoba” in Afghanistan

Georgian military servicemen of Special Mountain Battalion celebrated public holiday “Vazhaoba” dedicated to Georgian famous writer Vazha-Pshavela. Georgian soldiers participating in the ISAF mission performed Georgian folk songs and poems written by Vazha-Pshavela. The event took place at cultural-recreation center at Kandahar Air Base in Afghanistan.

Georgian military servicemen often hold cultural-educational events within the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. Tournaments in chess and draught are also planned to be held in the nearest future. Georgian soldiers successfully compete with the military of coalition forces in football championship at Kandahar Air Base.
