Colonel Jokhadze Visited Georgian Troops in RCA

Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Colonel Roman Jokhadze visited the Georgian troops in the Republic of Central Africa. He spent five days with the Georgian servicemen who are performing peacekeeping mission in the capital Bangui and observed the daily activates of the company.
Within the framework of the visit, Colonel held meetings with the representatives of the local government. He met with Jean-Jacques Demafouth who oversees the African-led International Support Mission to the Central African Republic (MISCA) and the Operation SANGARIS led by France, Chief of General Staff of RCA Brig. Gen. Gerome Bouba, Commander of the Operation SANGARIS, Eric Bellot des Minieres, Force Commander of EUFOR RCA Brigadier General Thierry Lion who supervises the Georgian contingent and Chief of Staff for MINUSCA Force Brig. Gen. Frederic Hingray.
At the meeting the sides discussed the ongoing operation in the Republic of Central Africa. The host side made a presentation about the current situation in the area of operations and underlined the importance of Georgia's contribution to the mission. They extended gratitude towards Colonel Jokhadze for participation of Georgia in the EU-led operation.
Batumi Separate Light Infantry Battalion left for the Central African Republic in June. The Georgian contingent is carrying out peacekeeping mission in the capital of RCA Bangui. Their mission is to provide security in the area of operations and stabilization of the situation. Tasks of the company also include patrolling on the territory of the airport.
