Newly designed number plates will be available on September 1

From September 1, 2014 the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia will start issuing newly designed number plates for all kinds of vehicles.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, any civilian wishing to obtain a new number plate will be able to make a request for the series and the digits desirable for him/her from August 14, 2014. Search and requests for free license plates is available throughout the country, in all regional divisions of the Agency via the website of the Service Agency (www.sagency.ge).

After registration with the website of the Service Agency (www.sagency.ge) persons interested in obtaining the number plates shall have the opportunity to search for the desired number plate and make a request for it. Reserving a number plate through the website is also allowed in his/her own name as well as in the name of any other person, with indication of personal data of the relevant individual.

According to the Ministry, it is not necessary to change the current number plates as they are effective to September 20, 2020 (inclusive). (IPN)
