SOCAR increases gas extraction

Nearly 18bn cubic meters of gas were extracted in the country in January-July.
In January-July 2014, SOCAR extracted nearly 4.4bn cubic meters of gas against 4.18bn in the same period of 2013.
According to the information posted on the company’s website on Thursday, SOCAR along with foreign investors is developing the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshl block of fields and Shah Deniz gas condensate field.
According to the information from the company, in January-July the country produced nearly 18bn cubic meters of gas against 18.2bn cubic meters in the same period of the last year.
In 2013 Azerbaijan produced a total of 30.78bn cubic meters of gas against 29bn cubic meters in 2012.
SOCAR includes Azneft PU (enterprise for onshore and offshore production of oil and gas), Azerkimya (enterprise of chemical industry) and Azerigas.
In addition, the State Oil Company includes a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises, institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling works.
