Security operations led by Georgian military in Kandahar

Georgian soldiers deployed at the Kandahar air base of Afghanistan are carrying out security operations successfully. The military of Special Mountain Battalion have been protecting security of the U.S. civil contractors in Kandahar province for already a month; in particular, they provide their safe movement and activities at the base.

The Georgian military carry the civil contractors to the “HERO” military base by American armored vehicles and continue their protection there. The U.S. civil contractors train the Afghan forces in exploitation and repair of military technique. The military of Special Mountain Battalion of GAF were granted certificates for successfully accomplishing their duties.

The Georgian military unit will accomplish the ISAF mission in several months and come back to the motherland.
