French manufacturer submits proposals for nuclear reactor project in Azerbaijan

France’s Areva, which is engaged in the development and production of equipment for nuclear power industry, has presented in Baku its proposals for the construction of a nuclear research reactor in Azerbaijan, Fineko/abc.az reports.

The meeting focused on Areva’s proposals for the construction of a nuclear research reactor in Azerbaijan. The parties decided to fasten work, implementation of which is planned within the framework of cooperation.

Minister Abbasov emphasized that the research nuclear reactor, construction of which is planned in Azerbaijan, can be used by scientists and other countries in the region.

In turn, Areva representation office’s director for work in the field of nuclear energy with the countries of Central Asia, Abbas Jafari Jalali, stressed the importance of organizing various trainings for the staff of the National Centre for Nuclear Research, establishing work on organizational and other issues.
