French expert to be advisor at Georgian Agriculture Ministry

A French expert will start working as an advisor at the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture with the support of the French government from October 1, the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture told Trend.
French ambassador to Georgia Rene Salens introduced the expert in the field of agriculture to Georgian Minister of Agriculture Otar Danelia, according to the report.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the French side, the report said.
"Special attention in the economic development of the country is paid to agriculture,” the French ambassador said. “We welcome the decision of the Georgian government, which declared agriculture as a priority sector. We are ready to maximally support in this complex and important issue. The expert’s long-term business trip serves this purpose."
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Particular attention was paid to educational and exchange programs, the introduction of modern and new technologies in the agriculture.
The minister informed the French ambassador about the pilot agricultural insurance project and stressed the importance of obtaining the European experience in this direction.
