Motorway moving slowly

The motorway from Tbilisi to Rikoti pass will not be completed before 2018. Initially, the motorway should have reached Rikoti pass by the end of 2014. However, the transition of power from the United National Movement to the Georgian Dream took much time and energy. Despite this, government members are optimistic and claim that the process will be successfully continued. In the western direction, the motorway goes from Tbilisi to Sarpi, Georgia on the Turkish border. Another is the eastern direction, running from Tbilisi to Rustavi towards the Red Bridge, a border zone with Azerbaijan. The Tbilisi-Rustavi segment of the motorway is under construction.
