According to the information of the National Agency for State Property Management, the number of enterprises decreased by 114 in 2014 that is 26% less compared to 2013. 28 enterprises might go bankrupt, 7 are under liquidation regime. There are hundreds of enterprises in Georgia. However their effectiveness is not favorable. According to the Information Development Freedom Institute, there are 71 agricultural factories in Georgia and only 15 are active. The Baltic States also faced similar problems and they were addressed differently. Those factories that were inherited from the Soviet Union were sold, some of them successfully, some not. There are no state owned enterprises any more, instead there are small service companies. As for reclamation companies, main lines are under the state, smaller ones under farmers.
