Chief of GS visits Belgium

Chief of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze is paying an official visit to Belgium. On the first day of the visit, the Chief of Defence visited the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons. General Philip Breedlove, Supreme Allied Commander of Europe hosted the Major-General.
"It was an honor to host General Kapanadze. Our partnership with Georgia continues to remain strong. Currently Georgia is the second largest contributor to the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan. As an alliance, we are committed to the strength of our partners and collective defense,” said Gen. Philip Breedlove.
Chief of the GS of the GAF held meetings with SHAPE leadership and got a firsthand look at operations in the NATO Military Partnership Directorate and the NATO Allied Centre for Medical Education.
On the second day of the visit, the Major-General attended a Military Committee/CHODs Session, where non-NATO countries discussed their participation in the Resolute Support mission. Chief of the GS of the GAF also held bilateral meetings in NATO HQ with its Czech, Belgian, French, Polish and Ukrainian counterparts.
