Gocha Ratiani attends NATO Building Integrity Conference

A two-day conference was held in the framework of the NATO building Integrity Program in Washington. The forum aimed at fostering a close and intensive cooperation to reduce the corruption risks in the NATO member and partner countries` defence and security sectors.

The First Deputy Minister of Defence participated in the conference. Mr. Gocha Ratiani delivered speech at the panel titled „Corruption Enemy Number One” and highlighted the current and planned defence reforms. He stressed the Georgian side`s firm will to take the necessary measures for countering corruption and integrating transparency, accountability and integrity into the fabric of the defence institutions and forces.

During his stay in the United States, Deputy Minister visited the U.S. National Defence University and met with the military institution`s leadership. The sides focused attention on the participation of Georgian civil and military personnel in different University programs and using obtained education efficiently. First Deputy Minister of Defence also had a talk with the Georgian students currently getting education in the military institution.
