Azerbaijan reduces import of goods from Georgia

Azerbaijan reduced the import of goods from Georgia by 2.3 times in January-March 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, the Georgian National Statistics Service’s report as of January-March 2015 says.
Georgia exported goods worth $63.49 million in January-March 2015, which is 12.6 percent of the total Georgian export, the report said.
Georgia exported goods worth $145.68 million to Azerbaijan in January-March 2014.
Georgia mainly exports cars, cattle, cement, steel reinforcement and other products to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan is the leader in a volume of goods imported from Georgia. Bulgaria ranks second on this index. Georgian products worth $51.58 million (10.3 percent of a total export volume) have been exported to this country since early 2015.
Turkey with $40.78 million or 8.1 percent of a total export volume of Georgia during the reporting period ranks third on an import volume of Georgian goods.
The trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $214.2 million (9.4 percent of a total foreign trade volume of Georgia) in January-March 2015, which is 33 percent less than in the same period of 2014.
For comparison, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $319.75 million in January-March 2014. (Trend.az)
