Georgia’s Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili hosted the Ambassador of Austria to Georgia
after Axel Wech arrived in Tbilisi on December 14.
Georgian-Austrian relations in the political, cultural and economic spheres were high on the agenda at the bilateral meeting.
It should be highlighted that the Austrian Ambassador to Georgia resides in Baku, Azerbaijan, as there is currently no official embassy building in Georgia.
Touching on the issue of the Ambassador's residence, the Georgian Foreign Minister stressed that the opening of the Austrian Embassy in Georgia next year will make the Georgian-Austrian interaction more intense and fruitful, especially economic respects.
On another note, Kvirikashvili thanked the Ambassador for his country’s continual support to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
For his part, Wech stated that Austrian investors’ interest in Georgia is increasing.
