According to the Roads Department of Georgia, all traffic has been banned at the Gudauri-Kobi road due to intense snowfall, wind and limited visibility.
According to the department, partial restrictions are imposed on the Aragvispiri-Gudauri (Posta) and Kobi-Larsi roads.
Heavy vehicles and transports with a capacity of more than thirty people are banned.
Traffic is fully prohibited at the Akhaltsikhe-Ninotsmina road (90-112th km) and Koda-Partskhisi-Tsalka-Ninotsminda road (110-146 km).
Meanwhile, 4-5 magnitude storms are in the forecast for the Black Sea coast over the coming days.
Waves will intensify today, and there will be a 5-magnitude storm at night.
Limited hail and snowfall is also expected in coastal regions, while heavy snow is predicted to hit the mountains.
Stormy weather is forecast until January 21.
Georgia has already experienced restrictions on its roads due to heavy snowfall and storms in the country at the end of 2015.
The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure says that all relevant bodies are alert and will work to remove the restrictions as soon as possible.
