Vice-President of the Parliament of Europe Ioan Mircea says Georgia enjoys his unanimous support on its path to Europe.
After his meeting with Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze in Strasbourg last week, Mircea hoped Georgia will gain visa-free travel in the Schengen zone very soon.
“We have discussed Georgia-Parliament of Europe relations, the meaning of reforms and the public support in this regard. Public support is essential in the process of carrying out democratic reforms, and I believe visa liberalisation with the European Union will boost Georgians' support for the reforms,” Mircea said after his meeting with Janelidze.
Mircea said his Social-Democrats group in the Parliament of Europe also fully supports Georgia’s fast integration into Europe.
