Last week, Russian occupant forces located in Georgia’s de-facto region of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) kidnapped nine Georgian residents of the Korbouli village in western Sachkhere region for ‘illegally crossing the border’.
Locals told the media that in total 12 people went to the nearby wood to pick vegetables when nine of them were snatched by the Russians for illegal crossing the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) separating occupied Tskhinvali from the rest of Georgia.
The kidnapped people have not yet contacted their families. Locals say the Russians and the Tskhinvali de-facto leadership would demand paying a fine in exchange for releasing the people.
