Azerbaijani president’s aide talks influence of global processes on country’s economy
Wednesday, June 22
Global and regional processes in the world economy had a minimum impact on Azerbaijan in 2015, Azerbaijani president’s aide on economic reforms, Natig Amirov, said June 21 in Baku.
He made the remarks during the “Social business – way leading to development” conference.
“The decrease in oil prices by more than threefold, as well as the devaluation of national currencies of Azerbaijan’s main trade partners and other economic and political processes in the world affected Azerbaijan,” said Amirov.
The economic reforms carried out in the country, as well as the measures taken to develop the country’s non-oil economy minimized this negative effect, he added.
As a result, Azerbaijan’s GDP increased by 1.1 percent and the GDP per capita stood at 5,703 manats in 2015, he said. (Trend.az)
