Turkey launches recon satellite

The Turkish reconnaissance satellite Gokturk-1 has been launched from its spaceport near Kourou in French Guiana Dec. 5, Anadolu reports.

Gokturk-1 will provide Turkey’s Armed Forces with high-resolution images of the Earth surface.

The satellite will send over 60,000 pictures per year to the Earth.

Contractors engaged in creation of the satellite are Telespazio and Thales Alenia Space. (Trend.az)
