Success at wrestling and karate tournaments

The team of Georgian wrestlers has won 13 medals at the European Junior Wrestling Championship held in Dortmund, Germany on June 27-July 2.

Georgia’s freestyle wrestling team won one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

They took third position in the team competition.

Greco-Roman wrestlers managed to gain eight medals; three gold, one silver and four bronze, and took the first place in the team competition.

Meanwhile, Georgian judokas in Lithuania won the Junior European Championship.

In the final of the tournament they defeated Hungary 4:1.

The month was also successful for Georgian karate fighters.

Georgia’s karate team won two medals at Astana World Championship.

Andro Zinchenko became the World’s vice champion in 65kg, while Mikheil Tsiklauri took the third position in 70kg.

A total of 196 men and women took part in the sixth world championship from 72 countries.
