The procedure of exports from Armenia to the European Union will be facilitated in 2018.
First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, Garegin Melkonyan, told the aforementioned to NEWS.am.
In 2016, the number of exporters and export transactions from Armenia to EU was higher than it is currently.
Starting from 2018, Armenia will join the exporter database Rex (Registered Exporter). In this case there will be no need to receive a certificate of origin for each export consignment.
Within the framework of the GSP+, nearly 6,400 thousand types of goods (commodity positions) can be exported from Armenia to the EU at a zero or lowered customs rates. The certificate of origin is also important for enjoying exemptions.
“Now it will be enough to get registered in the system once as a producer from Armenia, there being no need to receive a certificate every time. Thanks to this we expect growth in the number of exporters to the EU,” Melkonyan added. (news.am)
