Black Sea Jazz Festival in Batumi has become a favorite place for jazz lovers in Georgia and not only in Georgia. The 11th Jazz Festival was hosted by Batumi Tennis Club and Take Five Club.
Founded in 2007, this year the Black Sea Jazz Festival hosted Jamiroquai, Joss Stone, De La Soul and other artists. Even though it is called a Jazz festival, it’s famous for its variety of genres. Some hip-hop, jazzy elements, electronic and cyber-funky music was offered this year.
Jamiroquai led the headliner performances of the festival. His concert was a total blast. All the tickets were sold out. He has performed in Georgia – Tbilisi Concert Hall - several years ago.
“I just wanted to say what a great audience you were – Georgia – and how fantastic it’s been to be back in Georgia. Always a great time here,” said Jamiroquai.
One of the spectators – Lizi Koridze mentioned that she has been waiting for this concert for a long time.
“I can’t believe I saw Jamiroquai live, this has been one of my dreams and I can proudly say in the future that Jamiroquai has been to Georgia twice, hope he comes back,” she said.
A Grammy-award winning artist – Joss Stone performed on the last day of the festival. She performed at No Borders Music Festival in Tarvisio, Italy before coming to Batumi.
Sponsored and organized by the Eastern Promotions and TBC Bank, the festival is attended by a lot of tourists from Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, etc.
Exclusive price for the TBC Status clients is offered on tickets every year. For the TBC Status Card holders there was 20%, TBC Prime Card Gold - 15% discount, etc.
Some spectators have purchased the season package, in order to attend all the concerts.
One of the students from Tbilisi State University said that attending the Jazz Festival is a must on her to-do-list in summer.
“Whenever I plan my summer, I always try to include Black Sea Jazz Festival in my budget. This year I have purchased a season package in order to attend all of the concerts. I really like the environment here and the music, of course,” said Nini Kuchava.
