Tbilisi Plans to Spend More on Infrastructure and Social Services

(TBILISI) – Tbilisi’s new mayoral administration intends to spend about GEL 326 million ($120 million)on major infrastructure and social service projects in 2018.
“Based on our currentplan,we will avoid a transportation collapse and develop the metro and city bus routes,” said Georgian Dream city council member Beka Davituliani.
Davituliani also said that GEL60 million ($22 million) would be spent on the rehabilitation of Old Tbilisi, in the historic city center.
The city also plans to construct multi-function youth center in all of the city’s districts, offeringvarious sport and educational activities, according to Davituliani.
Tbilisi’s 2018 budget will be 861.6 million GEL ($318.81 million).
