Companies will be fined 30 000 GEL for violation of construction safety

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze made a statement at the government meeting about a number of workers who have died on construction sites.

He stated that the number has increased recently and this is why the amendment to the law on construction regulations has come into play, which will intend to provide maximum security for people employed on construction sites.

“Sanctions on violating security rules, as well as illegal constructions have increased significantly. I would like to thank the Parliament of Georgia for productive cooperation. I hope that with these changes we will ensure the maximum safety of the people employed at constructions. If we look at the statistics, the number of people who died at workplaces has increased in recent years and in recent months, which is categorically unacceptable for us,” said Kaladze.

The fines amounted 3000 GEL before the amendment, while now the companies will be fined with 30 000 Gel.
