A global event organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs with Chef Alain Ducasse, Goût de France. Ducasse wanted this year’s event to be an opportunity to pay tribute to Paul Bocuse with the participating chefs having the opportunity to include one of Paul Bocuse’s dishes or a dish inspired by him in their menus.
In 2018, Goût de France / Good France concentrated on one region, Nouvelle Aquitaine - a melting pot for outstanding French wines, with the global brand of Bordeaux. The products of Nouvelle Aquitaine were showcased in the menus.
With this region being the crucible of excellence of French wines and rich in culinary, it provided a more than fitting selection to showcase the art of French cuisine to the world.

Wine is one of the most important elements of Georgian economy and French-Georgian relations.
In November 2017, La Cité du Vin presented its very first ‘Guest Wine Region’ temporary exhibition and hosted Georgia’s ancient culture that forms the roots of modern winegrowing and winemaking. The exhibition was titled as “Georgia, cradle of viticulture”.
A few events attached to the exhibition took place: a concert, a film, a festive event, conferences, as well as Georgian wine-tasting and grape variety discovery workshops.
Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of France were established on August 21, 1992. The relations between Georgia and the Republic of France are developing actively in bilateral format as well as within the framework of international organizations.
The cooperation in the fields of culture, education and science is developing successfully. Each year, the French Government provides scholarships for the Georgian students to study at the French universities.
