Alternative Sculpture Festival – Art Akvani

Alternative Sculpture Festival Art Akvani will take place on the 7th of July, at Golden Cradle Fortress on Bazaleti Lake.

Individuals will have a chance to express themselves through the medium of sculpture.

The main goal of the event is to bring people together through the medium of sculpture.

The artists involved in the festival this year are from Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, Israel, and Belarus.

Masterclasses will be held in Georgian crafting, ceramics, Georgian dancing and cooking as well as preparing wine with Kvevri technology.

The festival features exhibitions, award ceremony, presentations, concert, etc.

Each sculpture represents a legend or myth and viewers will have a chance to hear it told by the author.

After the sunset guests will enjoy a fire show.

One of the participants is Pavel Muntiev, sculptor from Saint Petersburg. His work tells us about a Karelian-Finnish folk myth about the hero Vajnemoinen.

Another participant is Andrey Kumanin from Tel Aviv, Israel. As Andrey says, he is a blacksmith-choreographer.

Self-taught artist Zaza Tsulukidze is from Zestafoni, Georgia. Many of his works can be seen in Zaza Art Gallery in his hometown.
