The GIFT/Georgian International Festival of Arts in Tbilisi will take place from October 18 to November 16 this year.
The 2018 program will be officially opened by the presentation of “Norwegian Culture Focus”.
Throughout the month-long program, the audience will have the opportunity to attend world art masterpieces from different countries.
The trade show where young artists bring a colorful offering of bright and fanciful jewelry, beaded glass, fiber and wearable art, paintings, drawings, ceramics, will take place on October 27 and November 4 in Tbilisi.
The festival has established itself as a leading theatre festival in the Caucasus region, as a presenter of unique theatre productions and specially produced works, combined with visual arts and conference program.
Various theatrical performances and plays will take place within the frames of the festival, including the play – ‘Without a Dowry’ by Dmitry Krymov's Lab.
Dimitry Krymov offers a modern interpretation of classical literature analyzing contemporary Russian life, implying experience of the modern epoch, as well as of the author’s view, whose steady psychology leads to a kind of a carnival, to the grotesque and comic condition of our current being.
By hosting residency for the theatre directors the Gift Festival increased interest not only of actors but also of the directors to compare and implement various teachings and new practices in their work.
The GIFT/Georgian International Festival of Arts in Tbilisi, in honor of Michael Tumanishvili, is an annual celebration bringing the best of the visiting arts in Tbilisi, as well as leading our country’s unique cultural profile internationally.
Since its inception, the GIFT Festival hosted more than 200 international visiting groups and companies and yet remains as one of the major platform for international exchange and cooperation.
The main goal of the festival is to establish and extend the cultural bonding worldwide, trusting that art is the only language to communicate with different countries and to the world around.
It is worth mentioning that the festival has received - EFFE – Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe Label 2017-2018 as 'remarkable festivals' in Europe.
