18th Season of Tbilisi Fashion Week

The 18th season of Tbilisi Fashion Week was completed on October 21 at the Museum of Contemporary Art with the 2019 spring-summer collection of Keti Chkhikvadze.

Tako Chkheidze, the organizer of the event noted that the four-day event was finalized in a perfect manner.

“Keti Chkhikvadze is one of the most talented designers, who constantly works on herself. Each show was different from one another. This season featured a good selection of designers,” said Chkheidze.

Georgia designer, Keti Chkhikvadze said that her inspiration was the environment, nature, flowers and ecology, which is very up-to-date, noting that she was full of positive emotions and vibes after the show.

Tbilisi Fashion Week traditionally revived legends of Georgian culture and art.

‘SOLO’ presented the project ‘Style Icon’ which was held on Mtatsminda and was dedicated to Bela Mirianashvili, the Georgian style idol.

Tbilisi Fashion Week four-day program included up to 20 events, including Georgian and foreign designers: Lasha Jokhadze, ‘Moro’ ‘Eterre’ ‘Matureli’ ‘Makmar’ ‘Ruarua’ Lasha Devdariani ‘Red’ and others.

Representatives of the Marie Claire and other famous editions and magazines attended the event.

The shows were held in the wine cellars and specially selected places.

The debut of Tatia Korsava's collection, who is the winner of the newcomer designers’ contest, was held within the frames of Tbilisi Fashion Week.

This year’s fashion week emphasized the popularization of Georgian eco products.

For the 19th season, this direction will be emphasized and ‘Georgian designers will prepare the collections with eco-leather on Tbilisi Fashion Week. As a result, the ‘Fashion Week’ will be transformed into an eco-fashion event.

The fashion week of Tbilisi organizers attempted to claim their attitude and awareness about the ecological condition in the country by not sending paper invitations to guests this year and but instead inviting them via e-mail.
