Georgians Grab 8 Medals at World Sambo Championships

Georgian athletes won 4 Gold, 3 Bronze and 1 Silver medals at the World SAMBO Championships in Bucharest, Romania which started on November 9 and finished on November 11.
Nino Odzelashvili won the gold medal in the 72 kg weight category among women while another female athlete in 80 kg category, Elene Kebadze, also won the gold after defeating the Russian Anna Balashova in the final.
Beka Berulava, in 82 kg category also grabbed Gold after defeating Russian Sambist Sergey Kiryukhin in the final.
Another gold medalist Vakhtang Chidrashvili, 57kg, became the world champion on November 10 and got this title for the fifth time in a row.
The current championship in Romania has been marked by another success of Georgian women's team- for the first time Georgian female Sambistas won the team third place in the championship.
Beka Berdzenishvili won the silver medal in Sambo Championship, in + 100 kg weight category and he became the Vice-Champion of the competition.
As for the three bronze medalists: Givi Nadareishvili (52kg), Paata Gviniashvili (90kg) and David Loriashvili (100kg) received the medals.
The Georgian man' team took the second place in the championship.
In total, Georgian men and women teams managed to win 8 medals at this year’s World SAMBO Championships.
